Find a shade for your room

Start with how you want the room to feel

A living room with a view needs something different from a bedroom or home office. We'll help you narrow down the fabrics and styles, then look at them against your windows in your own light.

Light-filtering roller shades across sliding glass doors in a furnished living room

Roller Shades

A simple fabric shade gives your windows a clean look and rolls up when you want an open view. Choose soft filtered light or a fabric that makes the room darker.

  • A simple profile at the window
  • Light-filtering and room-darkening fabrics
  • Manual or motorized controls

We'll show you how the fabric looks when it's lowered and help plan the fit around the edges, especially where a darker room matters.

Solar Shades

Enjoy the view while softening direct sun and glare. Solar fabrics can make a bright living room or sunny workspace more comfortable to use.

  • Help with daytime glare
  • Fabrics that preserve some view
  • A choice of openness and color

At night, a lit room can be visible through solar fabric. If evening privacy matters, we'll help you choose another fabric or an additional layer.

Blackout Shades

Give bedrooms and media rooms more control over unwanted light with an opaque shade fabric.

  • Opaque fabric options
  • A darker setting for sleep or screens
  • Fit planned around the window

Light can still enter around the edges. We'll explain how the mounting and any additional light-gap treatments affect the finished result.

Roman Shades

Soft fabric folds give a room a tailored look. Roman shades work well when you want the texture of fabric at the window and a finish that feels part of the room.

  • Soft folds when raised
  • Fabric and lining choices
  • Manual or motorized options

We'll show you fold styles and linings, and account for the fabric gathered at the top when the shade is raised.

Woven Wood Shades example

Woven Wood Shades

Bring natural texture to your windows with woven grasses, reeds and other materials. Each weave has its own character.

  • Natural texture and variation
  • A choice of weaves
  • Optional privacy liners

Open weaves let more light and visibility through. We'll show you lined and unlined samples so you can choose the privacy you need.

Help from a family that knows window treatments

Tom Shinn grew up around his family's window treatment business and founded The Shutter Factory in 2018. That three-generation background is part of the advice you receive today. Our family-owned team takes the time to understand your room, explain the fabric choices and measure for the way you want your shades to fit.

Choosing gets easier in your own home

The right shade starts with your everyday needs

Tell us when the room is too bright, where you want privacy and whether you enjoy looking out. We'll bring those priorities together with the style you like, so the fabric does more than match the paint.

01

A view by day and privacy at night

We'll show you how different fabrics look with light behind them. A fabric that preserves your daytime view may need a second layer for privacy after dark.

02

A fit that works with your trim

Shades can sit inside the window frame or cover more of the opening from outside it. We check the available depth, handles and edge gaps and explain which fit makes sense for your window.

03

Easy to use every day

A manual shade may be all you need. If a window is high or you adjust several shades together, we can show you suitable motorized options.

Samples, measuring and installation

Choose the fabric here at home

We bring samples to your consultation and look at them where the shades will hang. After measuring, we help you choose the fit and controls and explain the expected schedule. At installation, we check the movement and show you how to use and care for your new shades.

You'll also have the care and warranty information for the product you choose.

A few helpful answers

Questions about window shades

Which shades work best in a sunny Florida room?

It depends on what you want to change. Solar fabric can help with glare while keeping some view; light-filtering fabrics soften daylight; opaque fabrics make a room darker. We can show you the difference at your own window.

Will solar shades give me privacy at night?

Not always. When the room is brighter than outdoors, people may be able to see through the fabric. Tell us where evening privacy matters and we'll help you choose an opaque fabric or an additional layer.

Can I get motorized window shades?

Many shades have motorized options. We'll explain the controls and power choices that work with your chosen shade, and check the equipment needed if you want an app or voice control.

How do I keep my shades clean?

Care depends on the fabric. Some can be lightly dusted or vacuumed; others need a different method. We'll explain the instructions for your shades so you know what to use and what to avoid.
