More ways to use your garage

Motorized Garage Screens

Enjoy fresh air while you work on a project or spend time in the garage, with a screen that lowers across the opening. We'll help you choose the mesh and plan the fit alongside your existing garage door.

Choose for the way you use the space

A screen for your garage and your routine

Tell us whether insects, glare or visibility from outside matter most. We'll explain the fabric options and powered operation. Privacy fabric can be part of a motorized screen; these are choices to make together.

Motorized Garage Screens example

Motorized Garage Screens

Lower the screen while the garage door is raised, then raise it fully when you need to drive in or out.

  • Powered operation
  • Sized for your opening
  • Fit checked with your existing door

We plan the controls and demonstrate safe entry and exit. The screen doesn't replace the garage door, provide a security closure or stop a vehicle.

Privacy Fabric Options

A denser fabric can reduce the daytime view into your garage while still giving the opening a screened finish.

  • A choice of fabric openness
  • Daytime privacy options
  • Mesh chosen around your priorities

A lit garage may be visible through the fabric after dark. We'll explain that difference and discuss suitable mesh if insect control is also important.

Practical guidance from our family business

Tom Shinn grew up around his family's window treatment work and founded The Shutter Factory in 2018. Our family-owned and operated team brings three generations of industry experience to helping you choose. For garage screens, we focus on a fit that works with the door you already have and the way you move in and out each day.

Fit the screen around daily life

Keep access to your garage simple

The screen needs to work with the existing garage door and the people using it. We assess the tracks and opening and help you choose controls and fabric around your daily routine.

01

Space for both the door and screen

We check the door tracks, opener and the full path of movement. That tells us how a screen can fit without interfering with the existing door.

02

Fabric for insects, glare or privacy

Different fabrics do different jobs. We'll show you how much you can see through them and explain which mesh suits small insects if that is your concern.

03

Easy entry and exit

We help plan the controls and show you how to raise the screen fully before anyone drives through. Keep the opening clear while it moves.

Start with the existing opening

We check the fit before recommending a screen

We measure the garage opening and assess the mounting surfaces, floor, power access and door movement. Then we explain the system that can fit. At installation, we check the clearances and show you how to operate the screen alongside the garage door.

We also explain care and the selected product's warranty. A screen adds a mesh barrier; it doesn't make the garage a conditioned living space.

What affects motorized garage screen pricing

Opening size, mesh, motor and guide hardware affect the price. The mounting surfaces, floor and power route can also change the work involved.

We'll assess your garage and explain the proposed installation before preparing a quote for your space.

A few helpful answers

Questions about exterior garage screens

How much does a motorized garage screen cost?

We quote after measuring the opening and checking the existing door and mounting conditions. The fabric, guide system, motor and power access all affect the installed price.

Will it work with my existing garage door?

We assess the door, tracks, opener and available mounting space before recommending a system. The screen needs its own clear path of movement. It works alongside the garage door rather than replacing it.

Can it help keep out no-see-ums?

Suitable small-insect mesh and the fit at the sides and floor are important. Tell us about that need so we can assess an appropriate fabric and perimeter fit; standard solar mesh may not be enough.
